Phobos is a hollow “moon” currently orbiting Mars with very unusual properties. Its orbit is decaying and it will one day be gone forever.

I say we attach a propulsion system to it and send it on a slow ride to Earth orbit. Once there we can begin the process of converting it INTO a spacecraft!

We can convert the internal voids which are a quarter to half a mile wide into the largest ship ever. Solar panels on the outside for electricity, the porous surface will act as insulation and protection from impacts. We can seal the inside and add tunnels to observatories on the surface. the large Stickney Crater could be the base for a propulsion system, like a large natural cone on the end of a rocket engine.
